Description
The flag of the Netherlands Antilles was white, with a horizontal blue stripe in the center on a vertical red stripe and five white, five-pointed stars. This 3×5 flag is an easy setup with a double stitching design and two grommets on the left side five stars represented the five main islands of Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius, and Sint Maarten. On 10 October 2010, the Netherlands Antilles was dissolved into Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and the three public bodies of the Caribbean Netherlands. The Netherlands Antilles, also referred to informally as the Dutch Antilles, was an autonomous Caribbean country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Although the country has now been dissolved, all of its constituent islands remain part of the kingdom under different legal status and the term is still used to refer to these Dutch Caribbean islands.
